Obituary of Jean Sejour

Jean began his journey amongst us on July 16th, 1957, in St. Marc, Haiti. Born to Seide Sejour and Clerzumene Bellance, both also of the same City. From a young age he learned the values of a strong family unit and the harsh reality of life. This strong moral ethic he had from an early age shaped forever the rest of his life. Jean was the loving father of 3 boys: Stevens, John, and Dario (who succumbed to gang violence in Haiti this year). Jean eventually moved to the United States, in North Port, Florida where he met the love of his life Marie L. Pascale. They were happily married, and he became a loving stepfather to Christina Micout. Jean is survived by his wife, loving brothers and sister, 2 sons and his stepdaughter along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends that will miss him very much. His family, and his role as husband and father, were the most important things to Jean. This is where he drew his strength and left his legacy. Being with his family was what Jean enjoyed most of all. His life had many obstacles, and he struggled for the last few years with a devastating illness. Yet through it all, his love and caring for his family remained his focus, and in so many ways, he was able to show that love to them. This perseverance through adversity is a powerful lesson for all, and I believe it is his legacy. What a wonderful lesson he gave us. He taught us to keep our priorities straight; keep what is most important in focus; love and care for our family; do not let adversities, setbacks or any of the distractions of the world keep us from this most important aspect of life. May he sleep in peace.
