Obituary of Addie Gaztambide

Addie Gaztambide, 96, of Punta Gorda, passed away September 16, 2022, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Fl. Aida was born October 9, 1925, in Coamo, Puerto Rico to the late Jacob Zayas and Josefa Suarez. She will be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved to learn. She was a teacher, an accomplished potter who taught ceramics and porcelain at her school in Puerto Rico, a florist, a stained-glass artist, and she enjoyed many other arts and crafts besides being an excellent cook! She also sang in the choir at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include her son, Rafael Gaztambide (Elba), three grandchildren, Rafael Gaztambide Jr (Whitney), Mayra Gaztambide and Herman Gaztambide, as well as, eight great-grandchildren. Addie is preceded in death by her husband Herman Gaztambide, her son Herman Jose Gaztambide and her daughter-in-law Florangel Gaztambide.
