I had the privilege of meeting Brian when Josh took me to meet his extended family over the Fourth of July holiday weekend in 2014. I so admired Brian’s quick wit, his love for his family, his deep respect for the natural order of things in the beautiful land around his cabin. I loved hearing the memories he would share about his children's upbringing. I have one particularly fond memory of sitting with Brian while he told me about some of the folklore and legends that existed within the boundaries of the mid-forest lodge. He was so loved and admired by all of this relatives, and while his legacy lives on through all of them, he is dearly missed. -Katie Tabor (Josh Tabor’s wife)

Wow…..where to begin? I have known Brian since 1986 when I first started working at GM and supported the Tool & Die plants—Pontiac Plant #14 being one of them. Right away, Brian and I agreed that CAD/CAM, machining, dies, sheet metal and other business was secondary to discussing fishing and deer hunting. I learned a lot from Brian in those early years of my career and when he retired, he recommended me to be his replacement—and I got the job! Brian (and Kay) were always very kind and generous to Correne and me, having us over to the Tanview home on many occasions to fish, clean fish and/or eat fish! I always prided myself on knowing how to clean and fillet fish…..until Brian showed me an easier and faster way. I will always remember the day he and I were attacked by a domestic goose in his little aluminum fishing boat—the goose about outran his motor! It was a bit terrifying, but we found great humor in the whole event. Brian also was the person that convinced me that ice fishing really was not a waste of time and that I simply didn’t know what I was doing! He taught me how to pull a lot of fillets through the ice and I have since taught my son and enjoy every trip out on the icel I also know Brian would not be happy with the changes that the Michigan DNR did to muzzleloading season! I will also always remember the NASA postcard Brian kept in his desk at work—it was a picture of our little Earth taken from high up in space; he told me that whenever I had a problem, to always think of that picture and how small the Earth was in the universe, and visualize how small my problems were here on Earth—a teenie tiny pin prick not even visible on the post card. So true. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Seaman clan. Brian is greatly missed I know. I miss my mentor. Dan Martin

Dan, Dad spoke of you (and Correne) often and really enjoyed the fact that he had someone at work that had the same love of the outdoors as he did. Thank you for being a friend of his. Dad didn't waste time trying to be friends with people, and if you weren't his cup of tea; well he would just be on his way. Thank you for leaving this note and being a light in my Dad's life. Blessings to you and your family. Brian's youngest, Dan.

I am so thankful for the time we had with Grandpa Seaman. Grandpa was one of a kind. I remember him quizzing us in the car on financial terms and what we believed about handling money. Grandpa and Mimi took care of us kids when my mom and dad were out of town. Grandpa watched my Bible class with me every morning. I didn't have Bible class on Friday morning, and he asked when I was going to sing. I went ahead and watched Monday's class that day so Grandpa could watch it with me. When I was in middle school, I was having a bad day. I was crying over something, and Grandpa gave me his hanky. I offered it back, but he told me that I could keep it. I've kept it in my sock drawer ever since. At my rehearsal dinner, Grandpa showed Abby and I how he could rush from one chair to another in the restaurant so he wouldn't fall and still didn't have to use a cane or walker. I called him this Father's Day and he told me that he was so surprised that I called. We had such a nice talk, and he told me that he was looking forward to me having my baby. We will always love you Grandpa!!!

I am heartbroken at this tremendous loss. Mr. Sea was a kind man and always showed sincere interest. Tolerance was a strong suit - it must have been because he allowed my teenage self to tag along on a family trip (one of the best times of my life - riding motorcycles at the cabin and having his family for company). Quiet wisdom, meticulous car maintenance records, a love of the outdoors, avid sportsman, dedicated to family, an easy smile - that's what comes to mind when I think of him. To Mrs. Sea, Philecia, Kirk, Dan, and Hope my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May your memories keep hime close.
