Obituary of Kathleen Roberts

Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Roberts, 71 of Punta Gorda Florida, formerly from Woburn, Massachusetts and Bradford, Vermont passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 22, 2021. She was born in Winchester, Massachusetts on January 2, 1950. Beloved daughter of Elvira and the late Harold Roberts, loving sister of Stephen Roberts and his wife Cindy of Naples, Florida and predeceased by her sister Mary Roberts. Cherished aunt of Daniel Roberts and his wife Kendra, Kara Ruitek and her husband Nathan and Andrew Roberts, all of New Hampshire. Adored great aunt of Deklan and Angelina Roberts and Aria and Lila Ruitek, all of New Hampshire. She graduated from Woburn High School and attended V. Mass. She completed courses at the Andover Business Institute, IBM Automation Systems and was employed by the state of New Hampshire. Kathy was a country girl at heart and after her divorce, moved to Vermont and raised horses and sheep. She joined the Sheep Breeders Association where she learned to become an excellent spinner, weaver and knitter. She dyed her yarn because of her chemical allergy. She became interested in organic growing and had a huge garden of herbs which she sold to chefs at area restaurants. She moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in October 1999 and not wanting to be idle, she joined the Visual Arts Center and became an accomplished artist using colored pencils, which is a very intensive mechanism. Kathy sold her arts and crafts in galleries and farmers markets. Kathy’s nephews and nieces have many wonderful memories of time spent with Kathy, helping with farm chores and assisting her in her craft shop. A Memorial Service was held for the family on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd., Punta Gorda, Florida 33950.
