In Loving Memory of Ralph Eugene Caliendo July 26th, 1949 - January 30th, 2021 Obituary of Ralph Eugene Caliendo Age: 71 Date of Birth: July 26th, 1949 Date of Death: January 30th, 2021 Place of Birth: Rockaway Beach, Queens, New York Place of Death: Port Charlotte, Florida Ralph was born in Rockaway Beach, Queens, New York in the summer of ‘49 to Angelo and Jean (Allen) Caliendo. During his younger years he lived in Levittown, Long Island, New York with his sister, Jean and 2 brothers, Harold and John. His family later moved to Far Rockaway, Queens, New York where he attended high school. After high school he joined the Army and served our country in the Vietnam Conflict and he was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran and member of the American Legion. After he returned home from the war he met his ex-wife, Georgette and when she moved to the Chicago area, he moved there shortly after. They married and settled down in Riverdale, Illinois and raised their Son Angelo, Daughter Tina, and Nephew Jay together for 25 years. After his divorce he met his late wife, Julie in Spring Valley, Illinois and they married in July of 2000. She had 3 kids; Melissa, Brittany, and Paul (PJ) whom he loved and raised like his own. After he lost his wife unexpectedly he decided to retire to Florida and live near his sister Jean and her family. On January 30th, 2021 he passed away peacefully in his home leaving behind many people who love and miss him. He is survived by his Son Angelo, Daughter Tina, Step-Children Melissa, Brittany, and Paul (PJ), Sister Jean, Brother John, his Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Sons, Daughters, Brothers, and Sisters in Law, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and many other people who loved him. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, brother Harold, and wife Julie. His life, like anyone else’s, was filled with victories and defeats. One thing he will surely be remembered for was his way of cracking a joke and smiling through most of it. While we are left to reminisce about our own personal and unique relationships with him and remember him in our own way, there are a few things everyone could probably agree on. He was a proud Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa; he could make a light-hearted (usually inappropriate) joke in any situation; and when he was angry no words were needed, his face said it all, but it wouldn’t last for too long. Throughout his entire life he was a hard worker, a great provider, and he did a lot for a lot of people. May he be remembered fondly for those things and may our memories of him be cherished.
