I waited a year to write this because I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that my friend, my buddy, has passed away. Our friendship began in 2008 when we moved across the street from the Mellengers. It was one of the most precious things that will ever be in my life. In the few years before Karl moved to Florida, we shared so much laughter, so many adventures, hundreds of miles walking together, and some sad things as well. A man never had a better friend. I miss you buddy and it is my hope that one day we will be walking together again.

Dad, I miss you so much. I'm so glad that I got to spend the last month of your life with you and help take care of you. I know you would have done the same for me. You taught me so many things and how to be a good person. I will miss the jokes we shared and the laughter. You were the best Dad a girl could ask for. I love you Pops. xoxo

We've been trying to put to paper a message for Karl, but couldn't find the words. We lost our beloved brother, and our best friend. Now with broken hearts we have to say goodbye to our dear sister, our friend, the love of Karls life. She was called to join him with the Lord only nine days later, leaving us with unanswered questions. We will always cherish the memories, the laughter, and the special moments we shared. We love both of you and will never forget our special bond. Till we meet again, Eugene and Mary Jane.

Condolences and prayers to your family. The inclusion of Mr. Mellenger in my sisters wedding was very special. I am glad to have met you all when you moved into KY shortly after we did. I remember the one time when the fireworks we shot over the hill at your house, which were all kept in a wheelbarrow, somehow must have got a spark into them and they shot off all over the place. Interesting for us kids but probably not so much for the adults. Mr. Mellenger did get really nice fireworks for us though.

Ah!! Someone else remembered that!! That was a fireworks to remember forever!! I brought that up a couple of years ago and you're right, the parents didn't really appreciate it or remember, but I did for sure. I also remember there was a lot of swearing going on at that time!! LOL
I will sure miss both of them. We had such fun summers in KY. Swimming, boating etc. Will cherish those memories forever.

Gosh, I'm gonna miss Grandpa. Anytime I think of him, I think of how witty, humorous and clever he was. He taught me so much throughout the years (even though his some of his antics gets me in trouble when I repeat them, but it's worth it). Every time we all got together it was the best time filled with gut busting laughter and memories. He will be missed by everyone!
