Obituary of Kenneth Borden Stocum

Kenneth Borden Stocum, 94, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte. Mr. Stocum was born October 27, 1917 in Johnson City, New York to Royal and Maybel (nee Chrisler) Stocum and moved to this area 10 years ago from Fort Pierce, FL. He worked as a cosmetologist at a beauty salon and was of Episcopal faith. Mr. Stocum is survived by his half-sisters and their spouses, Amy and Raymond Harris and Joyce and Gary May and their children, Lori Blakeslee, Michael and Dannielle Kanaby, and Lisa May; nieces and nephews, Tom and Kay Stocum, John and Helen Stocum, Marilyn and Dale Jackson, Richard and Norma Stocum, Russell and Sherry Stocum, Ronald and Ellen Stocum, George and Bonnie Stocum, Karen and Tom Forney, Deborah and Kris Vorm, Ronald and Missy Dunham, Patricia Woodward, Cheryl Porcari, Kathy Dunham, Lester and Karen Dunham; and many grandnieces and grandnephews; and his best friend, Alvin Edson of Deep Creek, FL. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Samuel, Paul, and Robert; and sisters, Dorothy Bovee, Beverly Young, Jeanne Dunham and their spouses. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 1:30-2:30PM at Paul Schelm Funeral Home, 12687 SW County Road 769 (Kings Highway) in Lake Suzy. Funeral Services will follow at 2:30PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Center Rutland, VT.
